Easy DIY felt boards and busy bags

Felt boards are wonderful for kids’ learning and development, including:

  • colour recognition and patterning
  • literacy and numeracy skills – letters, numbers and shapes
  • imagination and creativity – making silly faces and other creatures, pretend food
  • storytelling – retelling familiar stories or making up their own

You can easily make your own felt boards with scrap pieces of felt and your own simple designs or choose from a range of free templates.

Travel sized felt boards make ideal busy bags for kids on the go or whenever you need to keep them occupied with a fun activity.
